The City of Busselton is the events capital of Western Australia, so it's no wonder there's always something to do in and around the city. We've rounded up 13 events in Busselton and around the region to get you out and about. The only problem you may have is choosing which event to attend. When in doubt, choose them all.
1. Next Wave Southwest Music
Get your friends together for an evening of indie music in Dunsborough. Next Wave Southwest Music showcases six rising musical acts. Expect soft acoustics, punk rock, and everything in between.

2. Southwest Mudfest
A favourite Busselton event for fitness fans, dogs and kids is the Southwest Mudfest. This annual obstacle course will challenge your mind, body and emotions as you push yourself through the mud, sweat and tears. Choose from 5 or 12 kilometres. There's also a 1-2km kids' course (recommended for 5 and up), and dogs are welcome too.

3. Here Comes the Sun Festival
A day of music by Amy Shark, San Cisco, Seth Sentry while enjoying fine Margaret River wine? Yes, please.

4. Strings Attached Festival
Guitar lovers and anyone with a great appreciation for string instruments will enjoy this one. Strings Attached Festival is a mix of exhibition, performances, and workshops. Look for players such as John Butler, Laine Wolf, and Ash Grunwald, just to name a few.

5. Busselton Marathon
This family-friendly running Busselton event is open to ages five and older. The 5, 10, 21.1 or 42.2km course begins at Barnard Park and loops around giving participants stunning ocean views along the way.

6. Busselton Show
The 159th Busselton Show rolls into town for a weekend of tradition and fun for all. Farmers and creatives can enter the many competitions in hopes of a ribbon, while adrenaline seekers get their thrills on the rides.

7. Dunsborough Songfest
More than 40 singing groups and choirs will be part of the 10th Dunsborough Songfest. It's a weekend dedicated to singing with workshops, concerts, and fun.

8. Act Belong Commit Radiance Festival
Join in the family fun with this free event in Busselton to support women's health. There'll be market stalls, entertainment, education, prizes, and a big pram walk.

9. Western Australia Gourmet Escape
It all began as the Margaret River Gourmet Escape, but this year the much-loved event will reach as far as Perth and the Swan Valley, hence the new name, Western Australia Gourmet Escape. Events in the South West include the ever-popular Gourmet Village at Leeuwin Estate, Gourmet Beach BBQ, and celebrity chef encounters.

10. Brunch De Récupération
This brunch is all about recovering from the night before and what's the best way to do that? With delicious food and a little hair of the dog. Prepare to be wowed with share plates created by Vasse Felix Head Chef Brendan Pratt and glasses of elegant bubbles. Afterwards, head to the WA Gourmet Escape's Gourmet Village at Leeuwin Estate and continue enjoying the best gourmet food and wine of the region.

11. Leukaemia Foundation Light the Night
This annual event in Busselton is a favourite amongst charitable locals. Participants will walk along the Busselton Jetty in support of blood cancer research with lanterns aglow to “light the night”. Register online to reserve your lantern for collection from 5pm on the day.

Why: Raise funds for leukaemia
12. Life Ride
In conjunction with Tour de Cure and the Leukaemia Foundation, Life Ride makes its way to Busselton and Margaret River for the first time. Active cyclists (more than 100) will ride 300-450km as a group over three stages to raise money for blood cancer research.

13. IRONMAN Western Australia 2019
IRONMAN Western Australia 2019 returns to Busselton on the first day of summer, but it's such as huge event in Busselton, it deserves to make our springtime list. If swimming, cycling, and running is your passion, get yourself in it to win it.
