The Fire Station

Probably Busselton's best fireplace is the cute wee open wood fire at The Fire Station on Queen Street. There's limited seating near the toasty fire so get there early to snag this homely spot. Unwind with a glass of wine or local beer and play a few board games from their games shelf and enjoy a brief respite from the cold.

The Pour House

With a similar vibe to the Fire Station, The Pour House in Dunsborough heats up winter with their newly refurbished stone fireplace. Eagle Bay Brewing Co.

Heading to Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse? Afterwards, stop for lunch and pizza at Eagle Bay Brewing Co, one of the best-loved breweries in the top end of the Margaret River region. Try their seasonal Cacao Stout (from June) in front of the fireplace for a real treat.

Caves House Hotel

The historical Caves House Hotel in Yallingup offers not one, but three fireplaces in their onsite eateries to keep you warm and comfortable this winter. With as many as seven eating and drinking areas (some seasonal), you'll be spoiled for choice for somewhere to kick back and relax with a hot drink or warming red wine. Each dining room offers a different atmosphere and setting, depending on your needs and mood. Choose the Yallingup Room for a formal dinner, the Injidup Room for a casual meal, and the Wyadup Room for evening drinks over live music.

Bonus: daily high-tea all winter

Open: daily, hours vary

Wild hop Yallingup brewery

Wild Hop Brewing Company

The owners of the region's newest brewery were smart when they designed their industrial-themed brewpub; they allowed for a heat-pumping wood fire. The glass walls of the stove slide up to act as an open fire or close for a combustible type. Either way, you're guaranteed a snuggly, beer-infused lunch. By the way, the roast chicken is delicious.

Bonus: hoppy 'happy' hour 4pm-5pm Monday-Thursday

Open: daily 11am-5pm

Robert Oatley has a massive stone fireplace

Robert Oatley Wines

Do not miss your chance to visit Robert Oatley Wines cellar door, if only for a peek at the ancient décor and mammoth stone fireplace. But, once there, sip samples at the stone and timber bar as the fireplace warms your back. This is one piece of real estate that's visually pleasing and overly impressive. The wine is amazing too.

Bonus: awesome, wow-worthy toilets

Open: daily 10:30am-4:30pm

Settler's Tavern

Stay toasty at Margaret River town's iconic and classic pub, Settler's Tavern (the Tav to the locals). Grab a pint of their own Margaret River Ale Company beer and a belly-filling plate of gourmet pub grub before settling in for an afternoon away from the elements.

Bonus: entertainment hot spot

Open: daily 11am-midnight (later on Friday and Saturday nights)

Vasse Felix

The Margaret River wine region all started at Vasse Felix when Dr. Tom Cullity planted vines in 1967. Pop in for wine tastings and stay for a gourmet lunch by the unique floating fireplace that will warm for toes and your soul.

Bonus: art gallery onsite

Open: daily 10am-5pm. Lunch from: 12pm-3pm

White Elephant Beach Cafe
