Easter in Busselton

Beachlands Chocolate tour of Busselton and Margaret River

Fellow chocoholics, raise your hands. We love chocolate too, so with Easter fast approaching we've put together an eggs-cellent guide to finding totally delicious, creamy, sweet, chocolatey chocolate in Busselton and beyond.

From memory, kids just want to consume large quantities of chocolate throughout the April holidays. (We have three adult kids and we remember it well!)

Sticking with the Easter theme we present the Beachlands Busselton Chocolate Tour of Margaret River. Because you can never have enough chocolate.

Have a safe and happy Easter – we look forward to welcoming you at Beachlands soon.

Simmos Ice Creamery

Start the day with a chocolate ice cream. Because if you’re going to indulge, you might as well start the day with brain freeze and a sugar high! Beware the ice cream eating emu, and good luck choosing just one flavour out of the 50+ delectable options.

Open 10am-5pm daily. 161 Commonage Rd, Quindalup.

Hot Chocolatte

We love their coffee. Kids go nuts because it’s lolly and chocolate central; the place is beautifully decorated with yummy treats from floor to ceiling. They usually put on an amazing Easter display. Super friendly staff and a great community spirit – they regularly do fund raisers for the fireys and other volunteer groups.

Open 6am-2pm or 4pm on weekends – check google to be sure. 42 Dunn Bay Rd, Dunsborough

Goanna Gallery Cafe

Their annual Easter Egg Hunt happens on Easter Sunday at 10.30am. Set in natural bushland just outside Dunsborough this is a favourite brunch spot amongst locals who flock here for the Indo Rice.

Open 8.30am-4pm Wednesday to Monday. 278 Hayes Rd, Quindalup.

Gabriel Chocolate

Make your way south down Caves Road until you arrive at Gabriel Chocolate. It’s a bit more of an adult, acquired taste. They source cocoa beans from all round the world and make the chocolate from scratch, so it’s a great place to learn more about how chocolate is actually made. There’s free chocolate samples to taste, too.

They have single-origin bars ranging from sweet milk chocolate to the dark chocolates with higher cocoa content and less sugar.

Stop for a coffee, hot chocolate, ice cream or chocolate mousse in their café.

Open 10am-5pm daily. Corner Caves & Quininup Roads (14/5 Quininup Road)

Margaret River Chocolate Company

Formerly known as the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, they changed names a few years ago as they don’t actually make the chocolate from scratch (like the bean to bar Gabriel Chocolate does).

That doesn’t stop them from creating a fabulous array of mind-blowing products; you walk around the large displays ooh-ing and ahh-ing over the beautifully packaged choccies, tempting truffles and amazing cakes. They make chocolate bilbys, quokkas, kangaroos and koalas.

Taste free samples of white, milk and dark chocolate drops. Have a coffee or an iced chocolate and lets the kids burn off some energy on the lawn.

Open 9am-5pm daily. 415 Harman’s Mill Rd, Metricup.
