Kid Friendly Breweries in Margaret River

Beers, Bites + a Playground

The Margaret River region may be well-known and loved for its abundance of fine wine, but there's another tipple tickling people's fancy around here: craft beer. The famous wine region attracts holidaying families in droves, so it seems fair for there to be several kid-friendly breweries.

The brewery-restaurants dotted around Margaret River are unlike city gastropubs. We're talking sprawling grounds covered in lush lawns, glistening ponds, and fresh air for a country mile. You don't go just to taste the beer, you go for the laid-back atmosphere, smart pub food, and to let the kiddies run amok.

To help in your quest for all things beer and fun, we're sharing our favourite kid friendly breweries in Margaret River (in no particular order). Cheers.

Tasting paddle from the family friendly Cheeky Monkey Brewery

Cheeky Monkey Brewery & Cidery

You can't go wrong with a pint from Cheeky Monkey. While you sit back and relax, the kids will have a ball at the massive enclosed playground and sandpit. When everyone's hungry, snack on  pizza, wings, ribs or cheesy nachos. Kids can order their own meal, which comes with a drink and activity pack.

Splurge: take a family flight with Scenic Helicopters above the Wilyabrup coastline - they do flights from Cheeky Monkey on Sundays in summer.

Wild Hop Brewery Yallingup

NEW - Wild Hop Brewing Co.

New to the beer game is the epic Wild Hop Brewing Co. This family-owned and operated brewery is stylin' with brews like Yankee Stank IPA and Rye Stone Cowboy Saison. Sip and sample on the outside deck overlooking the stunning countryside while the kiddies keep busy in the playhouse. When tummies begin to rumble, fill your face with unusual (for Australia) snacks like deep-fried dill pickles. Kids meals are $10 and includes delish choices like the mouth-watering char grilled beef steak and cheese wrap. Oh, to be a kid again!

Brewhouse Margaret River

A Margaret River staple and favourite family-friendly restaurant is the Brewhouse. Not only are the beers tasty and the food heavenly, but it's within walking distance from Margs town centre. Kids can colour to their hearts content or climb the play equipment, which features a wooden dingy. When the fairy lights come on at dusk, it gets a bit magical around here.

Bootleg brewery is family and dog friendly

Bootleg Brewery

This place is a family favourite for its flat grassy premise and giant playground for kids to entertainment themselves and make friends. The whole family can have a game of corn hole or bring your frisbee to toss around – the grounds are certainly big enough. You'll find all the top pub-like meals and guess what? You can even bring the dog.

Eagle Bay Brewing Co.

The contender at the Cape Naturaliste end of Margaret River is the lovable Eagle Bay Brewing Co with their fancy restaurant and gaga-gorgeous views from the back deck. This child-friendly microbrewery creates some of the region's best beer and the best way to sample them all is the tasting flight. If beer is not your thing, don't worry, they've got a sizable wine menu too. Children can keep the flies off them by running up and down the grassy hill or playing at the nautical-themed playground. Stay for a light lunch or early dinner with offerings from their two menus. The wood-fired pizza is always a winner.
